American Delegation visiting Georgian Trade Unions Confederation

Steve Marler, International Relations Officer of the United States Department of Labor, who is on an official visit to Georgia, and Rudy Porter, Director of European Regional Programs of the American Solidarity Center, visited the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation.

At the meeting the parties discussed the ongoing reforms in the labour field in Georgia and  the challenges faced by Georgian employees.

The conversation touched on the projects planned with the support of the American government for the next three years. Among them, the steps to be taken in the direction of raising the awareness of employees and institutional strengthening of trade unions.

Later, the guests met the members of the trade union employed in the garage of the Tbilisi minibus company and learned about the changes made in recent years in the direction of improving working conditions.

Within the framework of the visit, the members of the American delegation also held meetings: in the Labor Inspection of Georgia, in the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories,  Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, in the Embassy of the United States and in various international organizations operating in Georgia.
