The Tbilisi City Court has fully upheld the appeal of unlawfully dismissed Lali Gaprindashvili. The Confederation of Trade Unions participated in a dispute on behalf of Gaprindashvili against the Patriarchate Clinic. The applicant was dismissed from the Patriarchate’s Therapeutic Clinic for People in Need and its Development Fund without any real reason, while the order on dismissal indicated violation of obligations as grounds for dismissal (explained by conflicting character of the nurse). On October 30, 2018, the City Court found the decision illegal and ordered the employer to restore the claimant in her position and imposed full compensation of the forced leave.
By the efforts of Trade Unions, the rights of another citizen is being restored. On November 2, 2018 the Tbilisi City Court partially satisfied the lawsuit of the claimant Mariam Chelidze, who demanded reinstatement in her position and remuneration of the forced leave. Mariam Chelidze was dismissed from Tbilisi Main Library from her position of a librarian. Since the claimant’s position has been abolished, she was offered the same position in another branch, but the claimant refused the offer. The judge considered the case and ordered Tbilisi Main Library to pay Mariam Chelidze a compensation in amount of 1-year salary.
