In Switzerland, St. In Geneva, within the framework of the 112th annual conference of the International Labor Organization, the delegation of Georgian trade unions, led by Irakli Petriashvili, held a number of meetings with partner organizations and representatives of countries.
At one of the meetings, the President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine presented a certificate of gratitude to the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation and personally to Irakli Petriashvili for the solidarity and support shown to the Ukrainian people and trade unions.
“On behalf of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, which unites about 3 million employees, I would like to express my respect and gratitude to the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation for your fraternal and solidary support to the Ukrainian people and trade unions in connection with the Russian occupation and the terrorist war with Ukraine.
During the extremely difficult time of Ukraine’s heroic resistance against Russian aggression, 15 million Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes, and 8 million became migrants. In addition, 5 million people lost their jobs and homes due to the constant bombing of villages and cities.
Your support has made it possible for thousands of citizens to receive much needed support and assistance. Your help instilled hope and faith in the victory of good over evil and proved to be an important support for the insurmountable struggle of the Ukrainian people for independence and territorial integrity. The unity of our countries, the struggle for universal values, freedom and democracy, strengthened by trade union solidarity, all of this is the key to global peace and a better future for our peoples,” – says the note of thanks signed by the President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine Grigory Osov.
