The 15th Executive Committee of the Pan-European Trade Unions discussed the challenges facing the world of labour and the rising unemployment caused by the Covid Pandemic. The meeting was opened by the President of the Council Irakli Petriashvili, it was held again through the TV bridge between Brussels and the trade union leaders of Pan-European countries, taking into account the current situation.
Discussions focused on EU enlargement, including neighborhood policy and targeted capacity building assistance for Georgia, as well as Moldova and Ukraine.
At the request of Irakli Petriashvili, successful cooperation with the EU will also be defined and the criteria will be: minimum wage, number of collective agreements in the country and determination of the quality of social partnership, which was unanimously supported by the Executive Committee of the Pan-European Trade Unions.
In addition, the situations of individual countries and the facts of human and trade union rights violations in Belarus, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan were discussed.
The annual report of the Pan-European Trade Unions, the 2020 work plan, the reports of the Women and Youth Committees and other issues were heard at the meeting.
