President of Georgian Trade Unions Confederation Irakli Petriashvili will head the Advisory Board under the Chief Labour Inspector.
The Advisory Board will develop recommendations for the Labour Inspection Office on strategy, functioning and activities.
The first meeting of the Advisory Board was held yesterday.
In addition to electing Irakli Petriashvili as the Chairman of the Board, the regulations of his activities were approved at the sitting, also the report on the activities of the Labour Inspection was heard and other issues on the agenda were discussed.
The Council has already given several recommendations to the Inspectorate regarding the observance of working conditions in state tenders, the accreditation program for occupational safety specialists, the regional structures of the Inspectorate, etc.
The Council consists of 7 members.
The members of the Board are:
1. 2 representatives from each member of the Employees’ Unions, a party to the Tripartite Social Partnership Commission;
2. 2 representatives from each member of the Employers’ Unions, a party to the Tripartite Social Partnership Commission;
3. 1 member of the Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs of Parliament of Georgia; 1 member of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration of the Parliament of Georgia;
4. 1 representative of the Public Defendant of Georgia.
The Board shall hear a report from Chief Labour Inspector on the work done once every three months.
