While we need to maintain our call for an immediate end to the war and withdrawal of the Russian troops we need to ask you to take some other actions, including engaging with your government to press for comprehensive sanctions, including:

  • Denying Russian Banks and enterprises access to international banks, excluding Russia from the Swift payments system and freezing international accounts and assets of governments leaders and the oligarchs who support Putin;
  • Trade sanctions that include but go beyond oil, gas and coal;
  • Restricting access to ports for Russian ships or ships traveling to Russia whatever the commodity;
  • Cancellation of all visas for Russian leaders and oligarchs.
  • Further we will organise a global day of action for peace so will update you on further details.
  • Finally but most importantly we need financial support from all those that are in a position to provide it.

For affiliates we request you send contributions to the ITUC Solidarity fund which will be managed by the ETUC and the ITUC.

Your contribution should be deposited into the ITUC-CSI account number 068-9007804-23 with Belfius Banque SA, Boulevard Pachéco 44, B – 1000 Brussels, (BIC/Swift code: GKCCBEBB – IBAN Code: BE92 0689 0078 0423).
