International Conference of Economists was held in Tbilisi

International Conference of Economists was held in Tbilisi under the umbrella of the
International Trade Unions Confederation, Pan-European Regional Council and
International Labour Organisation which was organised by Georgian Trade Unions
Confederation.

Georgian Trade Unions Confederation was able to organise the very important
Conference. Economists from all over the region gathered in Georgia, experts from Europe
and the US were also presented. The discussion deals with a number of important issues,
including the World Bank policy.

The World Bank, as well as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, have
undertaken the responsibility to the World Trade Unions to grant loans to organisations
where human and labour rights are safeguarded. Invited experts with considerable
experience say that if there is no adequate minimum wages, large corporations will no
