On October 29, 2018 by 12:00 – 13:00 hours, another industrial accident occurred in Chiatura. 55-year-old Amiran Gogatishvili lost his left hand palm during his work.
As local employees say, the winch rope formed loop and Amiran Gogatishvili has tried to correct it. It seemed the rope stretched more quickly than he has expected. Instant reduction of the loop diameter caused torn off the miner’s left hand palm.
According to local miners, Amiran Gogatishvili is very experienced and professional worker.
The representatives of Local Trade Union Organization of Chiatura, Trade Union of metallurgy, Mining and Chemical Industry Workers of Georgia and are already involved in the process of investigating the causes of industrial accident. Also labor protection and legal departments of Georgian Trade Union Confederation will be involved in the process in case of necessity.
