The decision was made at the meeting of the General Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) in Brussels. Among candidate cities, there were and our capital was competed by such metropolises as Singapore, Melbourne, Tokyo, São Paulo and Rome.
It should be noted that not only the capital of Georgia, but also other small countries have never had the honor to host an event of such importance and scale as the meeting the General Council of the Chief Governing Body of the World Trade Union.
Representatives and leaders of 120 countries will visit Tbilisi in order to participate in the General Assembly and make decisions on social and economic issues of global importance. It should be noted that Irakli Petriashvili, the President of Georgian Trade Unions Confederation made a great contribution that the decision to be taken in favor of our country, which in turn, is the recognition of Georgian Trade Unions and great honor as well.
The meeting of General Council of ITUC continues in Brussels to date. Irakli Petriashvili is the Vice-President of ITUC and he participates in the meeting with this status. The key to the discussion is to strengthen the workforce.
