The Georgian Trade Unions Confederation will hold a peaceful rally in Solidarity with Ukraine and in support of Georgia’s integration into the European Union.
According to the organization, the rally will be large-scale. In addition, Irakli Petriashvili, the chairman of the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation calls on the citizens to unite and strengthen their positions. As he said, this gathering will be another proof that we are in solidarity with our brotherly nation and will never change the Western course.
“Let all those who are in favor of European integration and solidarity with Ukraine unite. Now is the time for society to be as united as ever, no matter what you do or what your political views are. To create national consent and unity for those who think so.
Let us once again feel our friend Ukraine, our support. Together we must reject Russian aggression and show the West that European integration is the nation’s choice. That each of our steps, actions, words is aimed at the pursuit of unanimous and European values. That along with Ukraine and Moldova, our country also deserves the status of a candidate for EU membership.
Let’s condemn together: authoritarianism, totalitarianism, dictatorship, twenty-first century fascism. Come to the Parliament building on Tuesday, March 29, at 4:00 p.m. Let us draw Georgia’s path on the European map together and show the world that there are issues around which Georgians can unite as united as Ukrainians are now in the fight against Russia, regardless of their ideological or political views, “ Irakli Petriashvili said.
The Georgian Trade Unions Confederation extends its condolences to the families of Georgian citizens killed in Ukraine and hopes that the Russian aggression will end soon.
