Anti-corruption policy document

General provisions

  1. With the adoption of this document, the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation (GTUC) and its member organizations (hereinafter “Trade Unions”) declare zero tolerance towards corruption.
  2. The Trade Unions are committed to conducting ethical and honest activities and implementation and application of mechanisms to prevent corruption. The main principles of our work are professionalism, good faith and fairness.
  3. The organization strictly follows both national and international legislation related to corruption.
  4. The organization acknowledges that corruption is prohibited by law and criminal responsibility is set.
  5. The above policy document applies to all leaders and employees regardless of the period and terms of the contract, including those employed on the volunteer basis. The Trade Unions apply this anti-corruption policy on organizations founded by it and its employees.

 

The scope of the policy document

 

The policy document applies to the following four areas:

 

# 1 gifts and hospitality

The organization will receive hospitality and goodwill gestures if giving out/receiving of gifts meets the following requirements, namely:

 

 

# 2 Promotion Payments

 

The Trade Unions will not accept or give any kind of support / promotion payments. We recognize that such payments are a form of bribery.

The organization does not make or receive so-called “Kickbacks”. We recognize that the so-called “Kickbacks” is usually performed in favour of benefit or advantage.

 

# 3 Political Contributions

 

The Trade Unions do not make donations, neither in cash nor in any other way to support any political party or candidate. We recognize that this can be perceived as an attempt to gain an unfair business advantage.

 

# 4 Charitable contributions

 

If necessary, the Trade Unions give out charitable contributions in various forms such as services, knowledge, time, or direct financial assistance.

Leaders and employees should exercise caution that charitable contributions are not used to hide the fact of bribery.

 

Employee obligations

All leaders and employees of the organization are obliged to:

 

Monitoring
